Operating a startup business has its challenges with various projects to multitask and stay the course, get in the know to grow & glow!
1. Strategize by carving out a daily time schedule.
- promote less stress when managing small projects; there are fewer risk involved and helps multi-task larger projects to completion.
2. Operate with a level of integrity: lead the team with unity and transparency.
- promote trust and teamwork.
3. Lead with value, be genuine, work diligently and maintain a consistent commitment to targeted projects.
- promote trust and teamwork, as well as promote confidence in skills and ability to lead the team to meet and/or exceed all targets.
4. Be authentic, care personally, and ask deep questions to understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses, professional and personal goals.
5. Work collectively as a team, build rapport, get to know each other’s work style, and support a sense of community; work out clear goal tag team tasks, help each other to get in the know and grow.
6. Trust assigned tasks are being fully executed, and “always verify” – communicate effectively, touch base with teams during halfway mark of a project; this will show care and conscientiousness in areas that may require additional expertise to meet targeted goals.
7. Always be open to change – continuously learn new and better things; this will promote fresh ideas and ways of doing things professionally and personally.
8. Network Building - accept key invites relevant to your career/passion/small business, even if you may only know one person or no one who is attending; the key is quality, not quantity. As you navigate network building, connect and build an effective and long-lasting index of clients.
9. Be maven - (an expert) in building relationships between the people you meet and suggest opportunities for further growth.
10. Celebrate the small victories with the team and enjoy being a winner.
11. Be humble - show gratitude, value other people’s work ethics, opinions, and feelings; respect them and support them at their difficult times.
Listen and realize that not everything needs a response or a story about you. ...
Ask questions –do not assume that you know what someone is thinking or feeling.
Recognize and learn the difference between empathy and sympathy when responding.
Create opportunities for involvement but require it.
