A 2nd Trump presidency could jeopardize millions of American’s ObamaCare Health Coverage

Post Date: January 17, 2024

Even though it is more popular and widely used than it was in 2017, Trump has once again promised to repeal the Affordable Care Act if elected. It has been one of Trump’s most appealing goals, to dismantle the Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare! They failed to pass their own plan to replace it, which was a big part of why the GOP lost control of the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterms.

Since its enactment on March 23, 2010, the Affordable Care Act has led to a historic advancement of health equity in the United States. This landmark law improved the health of all Americans, including women and families, kids, older adults, people with disabilities, LGBTQI+ and communities of color.

Thanks to the ACA, millions more Americans have gained health coverage without limits, and protections are in place for people with pre-existing conditions.

The 2024 Republican Presidential candidates all oppose the Affordable Care Act, but they still have not indicated whether they would even try to repeal it. Frankly, at this point, it will probably be highly unlikely that this coverage will ever be overturned in the future. The ACA has been in law now [almost 14 years]. Yay, President Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.! Hats off to you!
